Burd.io
Burd.io is my personal photo gallery. All the photos here are taken by me (Teemu Vartiainen / Sentri). I am a hobbyist photographer who loves birds. The purpose of this page is for me to share my photos with my friends and with the world in an organized way. I want to take as many pictures of as many different animals as possible, and "Catch them all"!

Photos, animals, and albums
The photos are tagged with names, locations, and descriptions. They are also connected to albums and animals (that is, species of animal or "taxon").
Albums
When I take photos, I usually take them on a trip. I go someplace new or I go visit a zoo or a birding site. Thus, an album is a usually a collection of photos from that trip. Sometimes albums can mean some other kind of grouping too.
Animals (taxons)
Each photo also lists all the animal species that are visible in the photo. Sometimes a species is listed (such as the Bald eagle), sometimes a bigger group such as Eagles.
Photo classification
Each photo has a star rating from one to five stars, describing the overall quality of the photo. Photos with five stars are the ones I consider the best of the best. Animal photos also have a classification describing how well the species can be identified from it. As the purpose of this website is to "Collect them all", I will also upload lesser quality photos of animals, if that is all I have.
SpeciesExists = Animal is in the photo, it may only be a blurry blob but I swear it is there!
SpeciesVerifiable = The species of the animal can be identified from the photo even if the quality is not good.
Excellent = The photo is an good repsesentation of the species.
